A lot of people decide to lose weight when an occasion calls for it. A wedding, a swimming trip, a school reunion. These reasons mean you’ve got a deadline. You’ve got to lose weight fast!

START WITH BROTH

Before you dive into lunch or dinner, have a nice, warm cup of good clear chicken stock or vegetable broth. Comfort soups have very little calories in them. Starting with a cup will help you fill up so you won’t need to eat more than necessary when you get to your meal. Isn’t that a neat idea for losing weight fast? Oh, we’re just getting started.

HALF IT.

Do you really want to sit there counting calories? No, we’re dieting on the clock here. You’re sure to eat less and slim down quickly if you’d just cut your usual meals in half. Of course, you’ll need to keep your fruit and veggie portions at full size. But all the starches, protein, and desserts –those need to be divided with the remaining half stowed away for next time.

BAN SUGAR

So you’re on a healthy fruit smoothie diet? Great! But just so you know, the fruit juice you got in that smoothie adds calories and sugar to your blended drinks. You’d lose weight faster if your smoothie only has whole fruit, water and ice. You won’t be missing out on the flavor because fruits are naturally sweet anyway. They’re a lot more nutritious than sugar can ever be, too. 

MOVE MORE

Who says you need to be at the gym to get some valuable workout time done? Simple activities like choosing to climb the stairs instead of riding the elevator or choosing to walk to work instead of taking a cab can make you lose an extra pound every week if done regularly. Hiking up the stairs alone can burn almost 10 calories per minute. 

 

WATER UP!

Never skimp on water. Aside from the fact that your body needs to be hydrated at all times, drinking a good 8 to 10 glasses a day is a sure fire way to keep you full. You’d be eating less and craving less if your body knows you don’t have the space for the extra calories. The more water you drink, the faster you’ll get to your desired weightloss goal.
